Ceramic Coating Aftercare Instructions

Proper aftercare is what keeps your ceramic coating performing at its best.

At AAD Ceramic Coatings, we don’t just install coatings — we guide you on how to maintain them so your vehicle continues to look its best for years.

Follow the instructions below to protect your investment.

Proper Washing & Maintenance

Neglecting maintenance will lead to premature failure of your coating’s hydrophobic properties.

The safest way to wash your vehicle is by hand.

We recommend:
• Washing regularly (every 3–4 weeks)
• Using the 2-bucket method
• Using a pH-neutral car shampoo
• Washing in shaded conditions

Tunnel washes are NOT recommended, as they can damage the surface and reduce the performance of your coating.

Recommended Tools

Using the right tools will help maintain your vehicle safely.

We recommend:
• Two buckets with grit guards
• Microfiber wash mitts
• Separate mitt for wheels
• Clean microfiber drying towels

Do not use the same mitt for wheels and paint.

Keeping your tools clean is just as important as the wash itself.

Professional Maintenance Matters

Even with proper care, professional maintenance is essential to keep your coating performing at its best.

We recommend:
• Routine washes every 2–4 weeks
• Annual inspection and coating check

A professional visit ensures your coating is properly maintained and continues to protect your vehicle long-term.

What to Avoid

To prevent damage to your coating, avoid:

• Automatic car washes with brushes
• Harsh chemicals or degreasers
• Abrasive polishes or compounds
• Waxes not recommended for coated vehicles
• Clay bar use without proper knowledge

Improper care can reduce the lifespan and performance of your coating.

Maintenance Schedule

To keep your coating performing properly, regular maintenance is required.

We recommend:
• Maintenance washes every 3–4 months
• Annual inspection and coating check
